......Once viewed simply as armatures for other sculptural work, I have come to understand my wire pieces as elaborate three-dimensional gestural drawings. Both the continuous line and its corresponding cast shadow is recreated as it is viewed from different perspectives. The kinetic quality of the wire material allows a new exploration of balance and movement which becomes an added part of the technical formula. The wire sculpture series is now inspiring the conceptualization of larger-scale pieces.
